How simplicity defined by wearing the sandals and hanging shirt. It may not be the simplicity but a personal choice. I respect personal choice of individuals and leader as well but not at all the places.
I would expect these people to invest in a pair of shoes instead of sandals and be able to tuck your shirt into belted trousers on required occasions.
