How do distemper and emulsion paints differ, especially when used in areas with moisture? The photograph below was taken by me at the staircase in my building, with emulsion paint on the lower part and distemper on the upper part. The difference is evident as the distemper has swelled after being exposed to moisture, while the emulsion paint has not.
